Mirinda Tyo graduated with her doctoral degree in nursing research from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and completed a post-masters Family Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She has over 25 years of clinical expertise caring for individuals with chronic illnesses. Her experience includes being a board-certified family nurse practitioner, nurse educator, nursing supervisor, and board-certified trauma nurse. Her research focuses on understanding the experiences of family members impacted by chronic illnesses and the factors that influence their health and well-being, such as caregiver burden, caregiver resilience, stress, and stigma. She now works as a provider in the Walk-in clinic of the Mashpee location, supporting both new and existing patients.
