For the Community
Is there a child, teen or parent you worry about?
Do you work with youth who are struggling with:
- School pressures
- Substance abuse
- Depression or anxiety
- Unsafe relationships
As you may know, children, teens and their families often face challenging and complicated times, especially during adolescence. We often hear from teachers, pediatricians, and youth workers who feel frustrated while trying to help.
As a concerned member of the community, you are aware of the difficulties families face trying to get help. Often, there are long waits for counseling and child psychiatry services. It’s even more complicated if insurance does not cover these costs or there is no insurance at all.
We are here to help. The Family Resource Center has both a clinical and community focus. We provide easily accessible behavioral health services to youth up to age 23 and their families. Because we are an integrated medical home, FRC services are available only to youth who are enrolled Health Center patients and receive their primary care with us. We believe that the close coordination between the medical and behavioral health clinicians on our healthcare teams produces the best outcomes for our patients and their families.
Specifically, the Family Resource Center offers:
- Information, assessments and referrals
- Child and adolescent-specific counseling and psychiatry (up to age 23)
- Parent and family counseling and support
- Insurance enrollment screening and assistance
- Access to other services of Community Health Center of Cape Cod
Our program was created to help improve the community’s capacity to support at-risk children, youth and families through early identification and supportive interventions. For community providers such as school staff, medical and social service providers, youth organizations, etc. we offer:
- Clinical case consultations
- Staff training
- Community partnership linkages
