Dr. McGuire
Welcome to the website of the Family Resource Center for Behavioral Health, a Cape Cod resource for clinical services and support for children and adolescents who are primary care patients of the Health Center and their families. These services, coupled with the Health Center’s primary care and other support services, help the entire family achieve the best possible health and well-being.
We recognize that as children and their families enter adolescence, they face a time of growth, change, and developmental and social challenges. To help young people weather this period and reach young adulthood with health, safety, good relationships, and achievable aspirations, a strong support system is needed - at home, school, and in the community. The Family Resource Center (FRC) was established to provide this support.
James McGuire, MD is the child psychiatrist at the FRC. He has many years of experience caring for children and adolescents with behavioral health needs. In addition to the FRC, he is also on the staff at Gosnold/Thorne Counseling Center.
In addition to Dr. McGuire, our behavioral health staff is composed of full and part-time providers, including psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, a psychiatric nurse, and a psychiatric nurse practitioner. They bring a variety of skills and expertise to our patients and community; including experience with substance abuse, trauma, and working with youth, young adults and families.
The FRC clinicians are supported by the Health Center’s caring and skilled staff who work in teams to meet the medical and behavioral health needs of our patients.
